bareMinerals Power Neutrals Collection – Part 2

Last week I told you about the lips and cheeks portion of the bareMinerals Power Neutrals Collection, now here is part deux. The entire collection is fabulous, but we’re going to kick it into high gear and talk about showstopping eyes today!

There are three pieces to the collection for eyes:

bareMinerals READY Eyeshadow 8.0 in the Power Neutrals ($40) is an unstoppable lineup of eight neutral-with-a-kick eye shadows. Shades range from supple mahogany, polished chrome, luscious rose to sexy black. These amped-up neutrals are the ultimate  staples for your eye shadow wardrobe. The finishes range from soft base tones to rich deeps, luxe mattes to luminous shimmers. With names like this, you know these neutrals mean business!

L to R: Exec, Payday, Magnate, Get Ahead

Make no mistake, these are not boring neutrals and ALL these shades are new. There is enough variation to make this palette interesting and there are endless combinations to be created.  Some of the color descriptions from bareMinerals are way off. Boss Lady is an icy pink shimmer (no way a bronze), Moneymaker is a khaki green, Schmooze is a bronze with gold shimmer (lots of shimmer), Boardroom is a deep matte brown,  Exec (one of the best shades IMO), is a  “gruple,” a grayed purple, Payday is a VERY pale soft satin gray, Magnate is a warm peachy beige and Get Ahead is matte medium brown, not taupe.

Exec is one of my favorite shades; I call it a “gruple” because it is a beautiful grey/purple–it looks great on the lid or in the crease with Boss Lady on the brow bone and inner corners. I’ve been wearing this combination a lot. I also really like Schmooze and Magnate together–give me a bronze shadow and I’m a happy camper! The mix of matte, satin and shimmer finishes is well thought out and works beautifully.

Like all the READY eye shadows, this palette is formulated with the proprietary SeaNutritive MineralTM Complex composed of positively-charged, antioxidant-rich sea minerals with cold-pressed borage oil, caffeine and cucumber-ingredients known to deliver anti-aging benefits including reduced appearance of puffiness for a softer, smoother, revitalized eye area. The consistency is divine; creamy, easily blended and long lasting.

Packaging is a gold compact with mirror finish. Although it looks beautiful, I am always wiping off my fingerprints.

Bottom Line: a great palette of amped up neutrals that are truly neutral–not too warm or cool toned. The bareMinerals quality is present and $40 for 8 great eye shadows is a fab bargain. The bareMinerals READY Eyeshadow 8.0 in the Power Neutrals is Limited Edition, so don’t daudle!

This is really pretty. Somehow, I just can’t get past the feeling of dislike I had for Bare Minerals when I was using them as an artist at the store. I know that everyone raves about the pressed minerals, so maybe I just need to give them a try again. Believe me, they have caught my attention with a number of their new products!!

  2. What a gorgeous collection! I love this whole release from BE!! Schmooze is such a pretty color! :)

  3. I’m with Mamavalveeta since I disliked working with the loose shadows when I worked at Ulta but the pressed are a whole new game. Some of their pressed shadows are outstanding.

  4. I DIE! I need this!
