Formula Illumin8 Duo: I’ve reviewed the Illumin8 shadow palettes before and this duo has the same formula. The pigmentation is rich, the finish shimmery but with no glittery fall out. The shadows are silky, blendable and glide on beautifully. The formula also helps make your eyes appear firmer and more youthful as evidenced by these research results:

The shadow duo in the kit, On Set features a beigey gold and a beautiful golden bronze. The duo is wearable by lighter and darker skin tones; on lighter skin it looks glowy and on darker skin it has a gorgeous bronzed goddess effect. I honestly think Anastasia eye shadows are often overlooked by most women over 40 and this a HUGE mistake! I’m glad they are in Sephora stores now so women have better access to this fabulous brand!
Formula Tinted Brow Gel: I was excited to learn that there is now a tinted brow gel after having such success with the regular clear gel. This is just as good for keeping those stray brow hairs in shape with the same lightweight non-sticky formula as the clear gel.
Formula HydraFull Gloss: I was not impressed with the Hydrafull lip gloss on the first try. As usual, my concern had little to do with product and more to do with operator error. The is very thick and goes on heavy so make sure to use only the smallest drop and blend well. Wear time is pretty good and your lips do appear more full, lush and moist. These are very high shine and high gloss which I have found does affect wear time. However, I’ve found this to be the case with most high shine glosses.
Packaging is a cute box with a flip up top showing a film reel of models and paparazzi snapping red carpet images. In the promotional material was the cutest vintage ”picture viewer” showcasing the products and information. Remember those baby boomers??
Overall Thoughts: I personally love this kit and am always impressed with the quality of Anastasia of Beverly Hills products. It’s a shame so many over 40 women pass it by. The eye shadow duo is soft and pigmented, the glosses are high shine and equally pigmented and the brow gel works wonders on stray hairs. The value this kit represents is nothing short of amazing! The price of the eye shadow duo alone is $23 and each gloss is $21 not to mention the brow gel! I feel the eye shadow duo will work on lighter skin as well as darker and since there are two lip glosses–a cherry red and a bright pink, this kit should be flattering to most skin tones.

The eyeshadow duo couldn’t possibly be more perfect for people in our age range. The bronze looks absolutely exquisite to raise the brow bone and the other side really sets off the eye. I’m glad you showed this. I’m getting it!
