Anastasia ILLUMIN8 Eye Shadow Palette: Finally Anti-Aging Eye Shadow! plus Giveaway!!

I was invited to the Spring 2011 Beauty Event at the Anastasia Beverly Hills store and was unable to attend, but the wonderful people at Anastasia sent the entire swag bag for the event! Today I’m going to concentrate on the ILLUMIN8 With Youthful Synergy Complex Eye Shadow Palettes. There are two new additions for spring–#4 and #5.

Beauty innovator Anastasia Soare of Anastasia Cosmetics has created an eye shadow palette that addresses aging eyes–the ILLUMIN8 With Youthful Synergy Complex Eye Shadow Palettes. Genius idea Anastasia! The complex is created from vitamins A, B, C, E and F, as well as rich Brown Algae, Sea Whip and Macadamia. The shadows also feature Anastasia’s exclusive antioxidant-rich Balkan Botanical Infusion that soothes, softens and hydrates skin. Formulated to help keep the eye area looking youthful and maintain elasticity, these palettes are perfect for women over 40! In clinical tests at 1 hour, skin hydration was increased by 29% and after 4 weeks eyelids appear 70% firmer and 83% smoother.

ILLUMIN8 palettes come in 5 colorways, I tried #5, a gorgeous combination of peachy bronze, brown, teal and navy.  I followed the ‘Red Carpet 1′ face chart of Andrew Velazquez, Anastasia Beverly Hills’ National Make-up Artist.

I used shade #1, a pale pink all over from brow to lash line, followed with shade #2 on lid up to the crease. Shade #4, a bronzey brown was blended into the crease and I lined my eyes with shade #5 a deep navy. I also applied the deep navy into the out corner. These eye shadows applied effortlessly, were very easy to blend and lasted all day using no primer. I experienced no fading, creasing or fallout.

I’m also wearing the Anastasia highlighting creme duo in St. Tropez which we’ll talk about in another post.

I absolutely love this palette and I haven’t even experimented with it that much–I just couldn’t wait to tell you that finally a brand has made a beautiful eye shadow palette that is simply ideal for over 40 women!

Packaging:  an elegant mirrored silver case. I’m very impressed with the included brush too–the blending side is soft, does and excellent job and the crease/liner brush is so useful!

Quality:  excellent! I didn’t even have to use a primer and the shadows lasted all day. Pigmented, smooth and blend like a dream! The shadows work just as well wet.

Value:  these palettes retail for $40 and you are getting 5 shadows. The brush is of high quality and is all you need. The quality of these shadows rival Dior and Chanel at a much better price. May be a bit pricey for some.

Best For:  with the anti-aging ingredients, these palettes target our age!

Overall:  Excellent quality, elegant packaging, clinically proven, good-for-your-skin ingredients. With beautiful pigmented shades that can be used wet or dry and a high quality useful brush, this palette is precisely what we over 40 women need. I was amazed at how my crepey lids looked smoother and younger immediately. The 5 colorways available should have something for all skin tones.

Prime Beauty Grade: A+   Anastasia ILLUMIN8 With Youthful Synergy Complex Eye Shadow Palettes are available exclusively at Sephora.
