Every once in awhile (about once a month to be exact) I feel the need to tell you about some great products I’ve been using with success. Maybe some of these will work for you too.
#1 Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder ($30)
I swear this was invented by Chris Angel because when you brush it on over foundation, it makes pores disappear! It is a translucent, super fine powder that gives a ‘soft focus’ look to the skin. MUFE HD powder absorbs into the skin so it never looks cakey or sits on top. It is packaged in a sifter jar which allows for a no mess application but there is a small amount of white ‘smoke’ when you tap the powder into the lid. Hey, what do you expect from a product designed by a magician? Beauties, you have to try this. Period.
Frederic Fekkai Full Blown Volume Shampoo ($23)
If I had to count all the volumizing products I’ve tried, it would be around 8,567–and that’s just shampoo. As Ellen would say, anyway…. I like this shampoo–I mean really like it. It is thick and rich, lathers well, and actually adds some volume to my limp lifeless hair. Now I want to try to full blown conditioner and mousse as well.
Benefit Lip Gloss ($18)
For Christmas I received Benefit’s Glitz Glam & Gloss set. Three double ended glosses in Zone Out (golden nude)/Almost Famous (copper penny), Kiss You (clear fuschia)/Friends in High Places (sparkling raspberry) and my favorite I’m With The Band (golden pink shimmer)/Fresh Squeezed (pink grapefruit). I’m in love with these glosses; they are not sticky and not too sparkly. I don’t like glosses with chunks of glitter that feel gritty. These are smooth, although a bit thinner than I like, I don’t feel that they are necessarily superior quality but I love the sheen these glosses give my lips and the shades are beautiful. All of the colors I mentioned are available in singles.
Urban Decay 24/7 Super Stash Set ($36)
This was another Christmas gift–okay, okay I bought it myself and put it my own stocking. Whatever. This is a set of 9 mini 24/7 eyeliners. These 24/7 liners have a well deserved cult following due to their ability to glide on effortlessly. They are waterproof/smudge-proof and are great for eyeliner challenged girls like me The set includes 5 best selling shades as well as 4 new exclusive shades. The new shades are: Corrupt (brown sparkle), Binge (navy), Eldorado (a new gold) and Oil Slick (a grayish black). I like all of these shades but I find myself reaching for Corrupt, Binge, Oil Slick, Rockstar and Stash the most. If I had to pick one (please don’t make me) it would be Stash. It’s a dark gold/green that brings out in the green in my eyes I didn’t even know was there. Cool.
Dior J’adore Perfume (1.7 oz -$62)
This is not a new scent, but it is a classic fresh floral that never disappoints. It makes it’s presence known without being overpowering; subtle but long lasting. I wore this as my signature scent for years until I ventured into trying something new. This was also my mother’s signature scent until she passed away recently so I will always associate J’ adore with her; sweet with a bit of sass, classy, feminine.
