Although retailers are pushing the fall season upon us, with temps still in 90’s, Mother Nature isn’t done with summer yet–thank goodness! Here are a few budget friendly fragrances to keep summer alive!
MOR Cosmetics Lychee Flower Perfume Oil ($18) – Produced with sparkling sweet lychee flowers united with ripe Berries, soft powdery Florals and the slightest hint of Green Forest Woods. In one word FRESH! I love rollerballs because they are so easy to throw in your bag for quick touch-ups, though with this oil you probably won’t need to!

Lisa Hoffman Eau de Parfum ($65) – Each 2 ounce bottle bears the distinctive emblem of its perfume and is the perfect addition to any dressing table! The 5 scents available are:
Japanese Agarwood: This rare, woody scent is accented with Zesty Bergamot, Spiced Ginger, and Warm Amber to inspire feelings of comfort and clarity.
Madagascar Orchid: A modern bouquet of Sheer Jasmine, Ylang Dew, Mimosa Mood & Pink Peony perfectly frame the exotic, unforgettable aroma of Madagascar Orchid. I was able to try this über feminine scent. It opens will a powerful spray of orchid, then eventually settles down to a powdery soft scent. A little too dense for me, I want to try French Clary Sage next.
Tuscan Fig: Surrounded by Vanilla Bean, Honeysuckle, Coconut Wood, and Gardenia, Tuscan Fig entices you with its warm essence.
French Clary Sage: Sparkling watery notes harmonize with French Clary Sage, Yellow Freesia, Cotton and Linen Accords to create a crisp, modern fragrance.
Tunisian Neroli: The rich-floral scent of Tunisian Neroli combines Ylang Ylang, Golden Amber, and Neroli Blossoms with Lemon and Buchu Leaf, creating a rich, sensual aura of opulence.
The scents also come in “fragrance jewelry”–such a unique way to wear fragrance! Shhhhh, don’t tell but my sister is getting one of these bracelets for her next birthday!
Lisa Hoffman’s gorgeous EDPs are available for $65 on HSN and www.LisaHoffmanBeauty.com
Kiehl’s wants to take their customers on a journey around the world with their newest launch, Aromatic Blends. Aromatic Blends is a four-fragrance, three-product, scented body collection and sensorial journey. Each of the four scent pairings takes you on a voyage to the source of Kiehl’s ingredients, and the fragrance’s inspiration:
- Orange Flower & Lychee: a desert oasis in Morocco
- Vanilla & Sandalwood: the dense jungle of Uganda
- Nashi Blossom & Pink Grapefruit: the tranquil gardens of Japan
- Fig Leaf & Sage: the lush countryside of Provence
Each scent is available in fragrance (30ml: $40.00, 100ml: $75.00, Collection: $55.00), soft softening cleanser ($24) and skin softening lotion ($26).

Soap and Glory Original Pink Eau de Parfum ($35) – Original Pink features Soap & Glory’s signature rose and bergamot scent. Fresh top notes include orange leaf, lemon, peach, and sweet strawberries. Its sparkling heart features mandarin, summer rose, gardenia blooms, and jasmine. This gorgeous floral-chypre fragrance rests on a base of patchouli, warm amber, and lush musks.
I LOVE this scent–it is really, really close to Dior’s Miss Dior Cherie–feminine, fresh, and alluring! If you like layering your scents, you’ll be happy to know this scent is available in Clean On Me Shower Gel, The Righteous Body Butter and Flake Away Body Polish, reviewed here.
Available at Sephora.
Bath and Body Works has added three new fragrances to the Signature Collection FromParis ($11-18), With Love – all three alluring scents inspired by the “je ne sais quoi” of the captivating city. Paris in Bloom, Sweet on Paris and Paris Nights and of course the one that started it all, Paris Amour review here.
Paris in Bloom – a beautiful bouquet of pink peony, dewy pear and blonde woods inspired by springtime in Paris. My favorite of the newest scents. If you like light florals, this is for you!
Sweet on Paris – an enticing medley of juicy blackberry, lemon meringue and creamy vanilla. This was too sweet for me but if you like candy scents, you’ll love it!
Paris Nights – a seductive blend of French jasmine, clementine and cabernet musk. Truly a nighttime scent.
All four Signature Collection FromParis fragrances are available in Body Lotion, Shower Gel, Fragrance Mist and Shimmer Mist in a cute Eiffel Tower bottle!
Custom fragrance development company Tru Fragrance announced mandarin as the fragrance “HipNote” for summer 2012. Tru reports that the fresh, energetic, sweet and tangy notes of mandarin will be featured in summer’s hottest men’s and women’s fragrance launches.
To commemorate mandarin as the summer HipNote, Tru Fragrance partnered with award-winning perfumer Kevin James Verspoor of renowned fragrance house Drom Fragrances to develop a unique, limited-edition mandarin fragrance. Verspoor’s mandarin interpretation is a crisp, fresh, energizing mandarin eau de cologne coupled with a transparent floralcy weaved throughout the fragrance and balanced by sensual woods. According to Verspoor, it is “a modernized unisex fragrance for all to enjoy.”
