Osmosis+ Colour Performance Wear Satin Foundation

Osmosis has been a trusted and effective skincare brand well loved here at Prime Beauty. In the last few years the brand has expanded the line to include makeup as well. Recently Blythe tried the Osmosis Colour Mineral Matte Eye Shadow Duos with wonderful results. Now there is a new star in the line: Osmosis Performance Wear Satin Foundation ($48).

There are five gluten-free, vegan shades: Natural Light, Natural Medium, Golden Light, Golden Medium and beige Dark. I do hope they add more shades as I don’t think women of color are represented well as well as those with very pale porcelain complexions. Natural Light is a perfect for me,  Natural Medium which should work well in the summer when I have more color.

Each Performance Wear Satin Foundation incorporates skincare benefits with wrinkle smoothing and plumping properties. Star ingredient, Dermaxyl® brings this anti-aging feature, stimulating cell communication and then repairing age-related skin damage. The added bonus of environmental protection also protects the skin from free radicals. Calming chamomile and hyaluronic acid deliver hydration and further promote anti-aging for a rejuvenated look.

The formula is build-able allowing medium to full coverage. I add more to the areas I have redness or sun damage. What I like best is the pretty satin finish–it’s perfect for us over 40 ladies. I find fully matte foundations highlight my wrinkles and fine lines while full-out dewy makes me look oily. The finish on Osmosis Performance Wear Satin Foundation is the perfect marriage of both. The coverage is also perfect: I can mask my imperfections and still look natural with a lovely luminosity. The wear is great too, I can get 8-10 hours out of it easily without a setting powder.

Packaging is a sanitary glass pump that dispenses the perfect amount of product for a full-coverage, flawless application. I find applying with my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge is best though fingers work well too.

What is your current favorite foundation? Do you prefer matte, satin or dewy?

That sounds like a great foundation. I am definitely interested in trying it out.

    • I really, really like the finish and that it’s mosturizing

  • Allison @neversaydiebeauty

I love the skincare ingredients in the formula. I think I’d like this one!

  • I’ve never tried this foundation but it looks lovely and natural on you. I love how it gives a bit of glow to the skin without looking oily.

  • I haven’t worn foundation in years, but I like to keep a list of vegan make up brands for when I do need to make a purchase! Glad to add this to my list.

    • I wish I didn’t have to wear foundation!

  • Cecilia C. Cannon

always looking for a good foundation, thanks for sharing your experience. I have pinned it for future reference.

  • Christina Bruner Polovich

I’ve never heard of this brand of foundation before. But I truly love exploring new products and trying them out. Looks like you had a good experience.

    • Yes, definitely and Osmosis is a great brand!

  • marciaf

I can’t wait to try this. I hope the Light isn’t too dark for me though. Osmosis is such a great brand.

    • I’m using Natural Light, you may have to mix some white with it. I think you’re lighter than me.

  • My favorite foundation formula is the Ordinary Serum Foundation. I just wish they made a shade that matched me so I didn’t have to add white to it. I love the Idun Minerals foundation in Jorunn because it’s a perfect match for my skintone, but the formula isn’t my favorite.

    • I’m going to try the Ordinary Serum Fdtn, just haven’t gotten around to it yet.

  • I really need to find a great foundation, I may have to give this one a try.

  • I’ve been looking for a good foundation lately. I’ll have to look into this one for sure!

  • Foundation is my issue! I hate to wear it. I love a silky, transparent one that adds a little dewy to my look!

  • I have never heard of this brand! The finish looks beautiful on your skin. I will need to check it out 🙂

  • This sounds like a great foundation! I particularly like the idea of a satin look. I hope they bring out more shades like you mentioned.

  • This foundation looks great on you! I have been looking for some new products, so I will have to check it out!

  • Krystel Seijo

High quality make up is always hard to find. Thanks for sharing this

  • Definitely going to look into this. I haven’t been able to find the right foundation yet.
