4 Fall Fashion Trends for
the Over 40 Woman

Morning Beauties! Fashion and makeup go hand in hand so today I’m thrilled to introduce a guest post from Over40Style, a fashion and shopping blog for women over 40, how great is that? Over40STyle is going to tell us how to wear the top fashion trends for fall!

Fashion trends for Fall 2010 run the gamut from the hyper femininity of the 50s to the ruggedness of military wear. But this year, with a little bit of editing, most women will be able to find many things that they can easily incorporate into their wardrobes. Here are the four top wearable trends of the season:

Trend #1: Ladylike dressing.
How to wear it: Make this trend figure friendly and comfortable by pairing a full maxi with flats.

Trend #2: Shearling and faux fur
How to wear it: Unless you are lucky enough to be very thin, this look adds a lot of bulk to your frame. It’s best to incorporate it into your wardrobe in small accent pieces like a faux fur collar, or shearling detail in your shoes.

Trend #3: Military-inspired wear
How to wear it: There is a wide range of ways to wear this trend. You can go all out in a structured coat with brass buttons, or more low-key with the new slim cargo pants. The important thing is to wear only one piece at a time, or risk looking like you are wearing a costume.

Trend #4: Minimalist
How to wear it: Pair black, gray, navy pieces in a monochromatic palette and wear with thick black tights. Instead of color, shapes take center stage in this look.
